Don’t use Hotwire. They refuse to refund a hotel stay a month in advance when the event I was attending was as canceled. They claim the fine print is the reason then blame it on the hotel. They don’t care and will not make reasonable exceptions. You can’t call customer service and speak to a real person. It’s all AI chat, no real people. Terrible. I will never use Hotwire again. Much better customer service and clearly state booking rules on booking.com and Expedia.

I’ve been using Hotwire for over 10 years and have booked some amazing stays. This is my go-to whether I’m in state or out of state. They never fail. If I’ve had any issue, customer service has handled me very well.

It’s been 20 years? I believe it has been that long and I have been able to rely on HOTWIRE’s cash saving offers nationwide. As a minister who travels to serve without requiring advance funding, you can imagine that there have been some “skin of the teeth” travel situations where only the savings from auto rentals and hotel rooms made it possible. Thank you Hotwire people. I brag about your service all the time.

Date selection is very difficult to perform. Once I finally get all the info in and hit search the app crashes. Called support and was told to use the website. So what's the point of having an app that doesn't work?

I used Hotwire for a decade for great last minute deals on travel. Used to be solid experience and reliable service at their hotel partners. The past year they’re just a joke - nothing but bait and switch offers. “Here’s this great deal on a four star hotel- book now!” So you book immediately and 2 minutes later at payment screen it says “oops sorry, no longer available but we have these other great offers!” Next day the same offer is back on the app - and the same exact thing happens. Reporting to BBB as false advertising - I’m in marketing and if we get caught doing this stuff in healthcare, we’re legally liable.

I have been using this app for years. Best app to book hotels. Love it

I’ve booked on this app and they always don’t have my reservation On the day of pick up I’ll get a call that the reservation isn’t not available And that had happened three times

Use almost every time and never have a problem

I’ve used them for years, especially when we need a last minute hotel. The filters allow for airport shuttle, pool, reviews. I’ve been pleased EVERY time.

I love renting cars on here last minute. Get such good deals!

Crashes every time

The app might work fine, but Hotwire as a whole and as a business model is awful. If you book one particular vehicle, they’ll assign you a different vehicle and tell you to just deal with it. They’re not willing to do anything in regards to customer service And it’s literally impossible to speak to a human being.

Broadly speaking, the app is glitchy and tricky to use. I was already not a fan of the app, but kept using it in hopes of saving some money. I’m down with Hotwire now after a bad experience. I booked a room through the app, only later to find out that it would have actually been cheaper to book directly with the hotel. Then, the only room the hotel has left was a smoking room (gross). It was very late so I stayed that night but then wanted to cancel the second night and couldn’t get a refund. no where did it say i was getting a smoking room. Really frustrating.

This app is awesome! I have traveled throughout the United States and have such great luck with hotels. I do not use any other app for travel.

Only use it for 4 Stars hotels or above. Always good experience with 4-5 star hotels. Don’t do rental cars with Hotwire because you will get a dirt cheap and unethical rental car company.

Hotwire is the best booking app ever

I book something and get to then get “booking error”. Try a new card get the same error. Try a third card, same error. Call Hotwire and find they don’t have a hotel to offer. Then why are they listing it??? I am on a 7 night journey and have experienced this on multiple evenings when I book. 3 times I gave up and just went directly to hotel and turns out you save a bunch not going with a third party.

I used to love Hotwire. I always felt like I was getting a good deal, until recently when I started doing a little bit more in-depth research when booking hotels. I am currently searching for a hotel in February in a smaller town. The first hot rate hotel and the standard rate hotel that popped up were the same hotel. There are ways to tell which is which, especially in a town where there aren’t many options. The hot rate hotel was MORE EXPENSIVE after taxes and fees than the STANDARD COST. The standard hotel was totaled at $201, the hot rate totaled at $203. This is because the taxes and fees for the hot rate option were over DOUBLE the taxes and fees for the standard option. Oh, and if the app realizes you’ve caught on, it will make the hotels vanish from the options and you will get a pop up that says the deal is no longer available. However, if you exit the app, reopen it and perform the same search, the hotel pops back up and is clearly still available. This website is a scam, you are better off booking directly through the hotel, or with another travel site. I am spreading this to everyone I know because it is absolutely ridiculous and false advertisement.

I can never get flight information from the app , yet I get email saying they have flight info just go to app. I don’t understand!

I been a member for over a decade. I have used both of service multiple times until now still loving it specially my pocket love it. I have staid in 3 to 5 stars hotels for the best price renting cars from comfort to family side and even sport for the best price. Their been one or twice I had to get in touch with customer service to upgrade my package and their customer service been excellent. As a business and family man highly recommended to friends and family.

I haven’t been able to write reviews for my last two stays. Hotwire appears to have its own unique star rating system where properties that lack luxury amenities like valet parking and full restaurants earn 4+ star ratings.

This app is the worst for booking. I tried to book accommodation and it continuesly changed the date when I tried to book. Finally when I paid it changed back the date and I paid the wrong date without refund. Also the accommodation that offered was the worst experience of my life and the cost of the hotel is the same there is no discount compared to the original price it's just a lie. Book on a normal booking platform. Don't use this thing!

I’ve tried a lot of apps with cars rentals so far this has been the best, you just have to get it at the right time, but they have some great deals.

I have used Hotwire for over 10 years and swear that you will not find a better deal on Hotels. Be careful about how you choose. Cross reference your options and read reviews. But totally worth it if you know how to use it.

I made the poor choice to book a hotel through this app 2 weeks ago and haven’t been able to access my account or booking since - it just cycles the login screen over and over again. My booking appears in the app but I cannot actually view anything related to it - it just shows an error. I’ve been trying to get help from customer service for 8 days and they keep sending me the same canned response about how “the app isn’t behaving today” and “their IT team thinks it should be fixed in a couple hours”. No one has ever tried to help me troubleshoot the issue. I have no idea what an “IT team” would have to do with a login issue since those are completely different teams. Waiting “a couple hours” has turned into 8 days with still no solution (or suggestions for how to solve this). I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app twice with no success. Now I have no idea if I’ll actually have a hotel booked when I arrive at my destination and no confidence that anyone at Hotwire will care to help solve this. Save yourself the stress and book through literally anyone else.

I’ve used Hotwire for years, but recently it seems that every time I click a hotel, the price immediately changes and obviously it’s always higher. It’s bad enough that they do that between sessions, but this certainly feels like the system is simply taking advantage of the consumer. The psychology of that is all wrong and makes me want to use other services instead.

Hotwire displays you a nice nightly rate even on the last step of the booking above the buy button. Only the literal fine print informs you of junk fees that are to be paid at the hotel directly. I’ve seen up to an additional 50% 🤯

Used to be great, but lately it gives you a list of hotels with great rates, but when you click on one it says it’s “unavailable” and to try back later. It then *refreshes* with a HIGHER rate. When you click on the same (newly priced) hotel, it has an even HIGHER rate. ??? That’s literally the definition of a bait and switch.

This is not a boutique hotel!!!!

They kept 515.00 and blocked me. Why?

The app did not give me the selected hotels that were in the heart rate they gave me a rundown motel

Son estafa tengan cuidado no recomiendo usarla !! I made a reservation on this app and I lost my money. They deducted it from that card but I never received the reservation and the customer service only gave me one bad one and kept the money!! They are a scam, be careful, I do not recommend using it!!

Advertised hotels were different than what was booked. Very disappointed

Hotwire gave me a hotel room with a hotel that looks abandoned and will not change my reservation or issue a refund do not use hot rate do not use this app at all

I miss the old days of Priceline name your own price. Hotwire Was OK after that, but now it’s a deceptive waste of money. In the booking and then put me in a dump for $115 which regularly has a rack rate of 68. Smh you won’t fool me again deleting the app.

I book a trip. I go to the Trips Tab. No trip is there. Where oh where did my trip go? Is it in my email? It is. Is it online? It is. But in my app? No. This is not hard people.
